Overview:
Softmart is considering exceptional candidates for the role of Technology Director in its Services Division. This technical leadership position will help guide the vision and ongoing development of Softmarts services business, architect IT solutions and managed services, as well as ensure technical quality for all services delivered by Softmart.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be an industry veteran with significantly broad and deep knowledge of IT technologies, with an extensive history of successfully implementing technology solutions and managed services in corporate environments.
Technology scope:
IT Infrastructure: networking, MS server products (Exchange, System Center SCCM/SCOM), storage systems, etc.
Virtualization: VMware, Citrix, Microsoft
Cloud: Azure/Office365 and vCloud Air. Knowledge of SoftLayer, AWS and Google is helpful
Security: end point protection, backup, archiving, disaster recovery
Mobility: Mobile device management, BYOD, etc.
Collaboration: General knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
Data Analytics: General knowledge of Business Intelligence, SQL, Data Warehousing.
Not in scope: Enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, Financials), Oracle, IBM (except for SoftLayer)
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field is required. Master degree is preferred.

years in a technology leadership role similar to this position.
Expert knowledge of technologies from Microsoft, VMware, Symantec, etc. Knowledge of IBM/AWS/Google clouds, Cisco, EMC and other industry leaders is beneficial, as is general knowledge of various point-solution vendors.
Strong understanding of the IT industry landscape, industry leaders and their strategies and technologies, emerging technology trends, etc.
Consulting background; experienced in leading corporate customers through the process of implementing new or updated technology solutions (requirements definition, architecture & design, building, testing, deployment, operational readiness, etc.).
Entrepreneurial spirit, energized by business building strategy; development of new services; grow a technical organization; develop strategic partnerships, etc.
Solid understanding of implementation methodologies and project life cycles.
Ability to accurately assess, scope, and estimate effort for IT projects.
Comfortable working on cross-functional teams, and collaborating with our network of partners for co-delivery of some services.
Strong customer-facing communication skills, authoring, and presentation skills.
Industry certification credentials are preferred: Microsoft, VMware, CISCO, ITIL, etc.
Domestic travel may be required (up to 25%)
