The position is responsible for supporting students in achieving their educational, social, and emotional goals.
Paraprofessionals complement teacher's educational efforts by providing direct support and instruction to students throughout the school day.

Support students in completing assigned workSupport students in transitioning from one location or activity to another Follow student-specific treatment, teaching, or lesson plans to support students in achieving their academic, social, and emotional goalsSupport students with activities of daily living as appropriate (e.

, eating, brushing teeth, hygiene, as appropriate) Collect data on students' academic, behavioral, and social goal.
RequirementsHigh school graduate, GED or equivalent of education and trainingAdditional state and/or local requirementsBackground checks as stipulated by local and/or state requirements (e.
g.
, child abuse clearance, criminal history report, etc)First aid and/or CPR certification as stipulated by local and/or state requirementsRegistration or Certification as required by state requirements.
Ongoing continuing education hours as stipulated by local and/or state requirements Other Skills/AbilitiesMust be able to adhere to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries at all timesMust be able to support student(s) in using technology and adaptive devices they need to complete schoolwork, communicate, and navigate throughout the school.
