Center for Autism Research and Educational Services (CARES), located in Downingtown, PA is seeking a Custodian/Janitor to ensure the building is clean and safe for the students daily.
CARES serves up to 60 children, ages 5 through 21, with a confirmed primary diagnosis of Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD/NOS).
CARES operates Monday-Friday year round.
Pay-rate:

Devereux Pennsylvania Childrens Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders.
Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

EDUCATION:
Trade or High School Diploma /GED
Experience:
Training requires at least two years commercial housekeeping experience, preferably in a health care setting.
Knowledge of general maintenance activities is essential.
Must be twenty-one (21) year of age to drive Devereux vehicles and maintain a valid PA drivers license.
Two years related experience.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly requires walking, standing, and stooping/bending (1/2 - 3/4 of the work day).
Oftenrequires lifting up to 100 pounds, pushing/pulling and repetitive wrist/hand motion (1/4 - 1/2 of the work day).
Seldom requiressitting (0-1/4 of the work day).
Range of hearing and vision sufficient to operate standard office machines and communicate with co-workers and stakeholders in person and via telephone.
Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.
Often drives a Devereux vehicle or van.
Regularly works inside in areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated and works outside.
Some fluctuation in temperature.
Regularly works in wet conditions.
